Existential Psychology Practice

by Dr Steph Knight

Life confronts us all with thresholds sooner or later. Whether through addiction, self-loss, existential crisis, personal loss, or major life transitions, we will each find ourselves at crossroads, called to rethink how we live, relate, and move through the world.

These moments bring us face to face with ourselves, with what we've made of our lives so far, with our limitations and our possibilities in equal measure.

Kindly Now is a private online psychotherapy practice based in London, created for people who are beginning again. Whether navigating breakdown, developing insight, or actively rebuilding, we support you through crisis and change with understanding, clarity, and intention.

We offer individual psychotherapy, intensive recovery programmes, and consulting - all rooted in existential psychology and designed for people navigating profound change.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Kindly Now is a private existential psychology practice created and run by Dr Stephanie Knight. At Kindly, we specialise in therapy and intensive recovery programmes for people at life's thresholds—addiction, crisis, loss, and major transition. We also provide consulting services for organisations and individuals.

  • We work with people facing significant life thresholds—addiction recovery, existential crisis, personal loss, major transitions, and moments of profound change.

Please note: Kindly Rehab is not suitable for those with active physical dependencies requiring medical detox. Each case is assessed individually for suitability.

  • Recovery at Kindly Now includes recovery from substance misuse, addiction, and process addictions—but it's broader than that. It's about rebuilding your life after any significant threshold: loss, trauma, breakdown, existential crisis, or major life transition. It's the work of creating new ways of being when the old patterns no longer serve you.

  • Existential therapy is concerned with understanding your position in the world and clarifying what it means to you to be alive. Rather than fitting you into pre-established frameworks, it explores how you're being in the world and who you're becoming.

The approach helps you face both the limitations and possibilities of being human—recognising that well-being comes from openness to what life brings, both good and bad. It's about finding your own authority and learning to live more deliberately, with greater clarity about what matters to you.

  • Kindly Now is a London based practice. Kindly Therapy and Kindly Rehab are delivered online. Kindly Consulting is available online and in-person internationally upon request.
